President Obama uses a teleprompter in most public speaking situations and  now you can too.

Of course the teleprompter is a mainstay for mainly studios in  Newsrooms. The mobile variety have always been clunky and expensive. Now there is this cool new device and application called Proprompter. The software allows you to input the prompter script into your iphone or pocket pc  which is then displayed and can be controlled. It also comes with  accompanying mounting devices.

The prices vary starting at around $130 for the basic unit and going up to $1700 or so for the more professional units with all the bells and whistles.

This version below allows the reporter to look directly into lens as their script scrolls along.  Having blown some live hits in my day I know this would make for a much more smoother on-air delivery (we can’t all be John King). And for producers it gives them peace of mind knowing the “talent” has stuido style prompters in just about any field situation.

And for those who rely on web cameras there is also this nifty $60 dollar unit that provides Teleprompter functionalty to most web cameras.
